The Program Specialist is responsible for the overseeing the residential operations and direct supervision of the Residential Manager and Direct Support Professional employees in the assigned group homes. The Program Specialist is responsible for directing a variety of cross-disciplinary services for residents in the residential settings inclusive of progress notes, IPS's/assessments, etc. as outlined below for the group homes assigned.
Coordinating the completion of assessments.Participating in the individual plan process, development, team reviews and implementation in accordance with Chapter 6400.44.Providing and supervising activities for the individuals in accordance with the individual plans.Supporting the integration of individuals in the community.Supporting individual communication and involvement with families and friends.Planning and evaluating all therapeutic care and treatment programs for residents-hierarchy of care, active treatment, and agency expectations for employees and regulatory compliance.Regularly meets with the Residential Managers and Residential Coordinator to review status of day-to-day operations regarding programs, group home and employment related concerns.Acts as the liaison between parents and support's coordinators and case managers.Base pay rate, $22.51/hour. Pay rate based upon experience.
Requirements
The Program Specialist must have one of the following groups of qualifications:
Master's Degree or above from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism, OR,A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism; OR,An Associate's Degree or sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism.Supervisory experience is required.Experience in management, policy development and with state regulatory bodies.Above average verbal and written communication skills including a demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally communicate with others.Working knowledge of computer software applications to include Microsoft Office, Excel, Internet and other agency related applications.
