The
Systems Administrator
is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes new system implementations, system upgrades, maintenance, performance monitoring, information security monitoring, and other ITIL functions to ensure the efficiency and security of IT operations. Additionally, the Systems Administrator serves as a liaison to the user community, providing clear and appropriate communication and promptly addressing user issues related to system and network problems.
The job is primarily on-site and may involve occasional travel to maintain networks at edge sites near the main campus.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as Systems Administrator or Network Administrator.Operating Systems: Windows Server Administration is mandatory; Linux System Administration is a plus.Cloud Services: Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Exchange, Box.com, etc.Networking: Extreme Networks switches and appliances, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Velo SD-WAN, VLANs and Subnetting, VPN, Site to Site tunnels, and remote access solutions.VOIP Systems: Cisco Unified Call Manager, Cisco Unity, Informacast, SIPPrint Management: Paper CutSecurity: Fortinet UTM Firewalls, Multi-Factor Authentication, Endpoint Protection Solutions, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) toolsResponsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.Implement and maintain security best practices, including network segmentation, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, change management and patch management.Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning and execution.Manage and configure virtualization environments (e.g., VMware).Administer moves, adds, and changes on Cisco VOIP phone system.Administer cloud services and resources.Maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.Maintain Data Center and IDF closet racks, UPS, and cable management.Administer Print Management server.Monitor network health and performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.Ensure compliance with ITIL processes and company policies.Create and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff.Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to plan and implement technology solutions.Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.Respond to incidents and alerts according to SLOs, which may include nights and weekends.Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system or network administration.Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, ITIIL Foundation) are a plus.A strong understanding of ITIL is required. An ITIL certificate is not required at the time of hire but must be obtained within 1 year.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
