The Apparel Assistant Designer will support the Design Team in all phases of the design process.

Responsibilities

Work closely with design team members and assist in seasonal collection set-upCreate and revise tech packs as requested by supervisor or managerGather and compile garment measurements, construction details, and trim/fabric information needed for proto developmentSketch into groups as needed by design teamOrganize and maintain fabric, trim, and sample libraries for easy access and referenceResearch trends and bring in new ideas through competitive shopping, magazines, websites, and runway showsQualifications

Must have a Bachelor's or Associates degree in Fashion Apparel DesignMust have 1-2 years of Fashion Design experienceMust have ability to sketch with IllustratorMust be proficient in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, excel and WordMust have strong interest in fashion design, commercial color sense, pattern merchandising ability, and general market knowledgeBasic garment construction knowledge requiredMust be self-motivated with the ability to work independentlyMust be a team player, open to taking direction, and able to work well under pressure

ADDITIONAL DATA:

The salary for this position is $22 - $25/hourly. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to position offered and work experience. In addition to your salary, Forever 21, and its affiliated brands, offers a benefits package, including 401(k) plan, overtime pay, flexible work schedule and a generous employee discount program (all benefits are based on eligibility).
