Zoox
Full Stack Software Engineer
Zoox, Foster City, California, United States, 94420
The Autonomy Safety Assurance group's mission is to design, prototype and productionize novel methods and tools for efficient modeling and simulations of complex systems at scale. These tools aid in measuring the safety of our AI and readiness for launch. We use recent advances in machine learning, statistics, optimization, and numerical methods to verify and validate our software and AI in the most challenging environments, and subsequently develop tools to enable other teams at Zoox to do the same.
In this role, you will own and develop multiple web applications that support the execution and introspection of large scale simulation runs. It's not practical for engineers to look at every single simulation, when there are thousands or millions--so your tools will be used heavily by tool makers, simulation engineers, and autonomy software engineers to drive the company forward.
Due to their visibility, these simulations are expected to be of a high caliber as they help to direct the development resources of the company. The ideal candidate will have an attentiveness to details, the ability to communicate across multiple departments and technical levels, as well as the curiosity and drive to dive into specific issues as they arise.
In this role you will:
Design and iterate on the system architecture for mission critical web apps Build intuitive and informative UIs for engineers and managers to extract findings from simulation jobs Construct backend infrastructure and databases to quickly organize and query results and metrics Produce robust and well tested code Act on user feedback and requests to support new use-cases as the product matures Qualifications
Fluency in Python Fluency with at least one modern JS framework: Vue, Angular, or React BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent 6+ years of industry experience in data-driven algorithm development that inform decision making Solid understanding of web servers and web technologies Bonus Qualifications
Master's or PhD Degree in computer science or engineering Familiarity with autonomous vehicle systems Experience with database services such as ElasticSearch, Redis or PostgreSQL. Frontend web experience Full-stack web experience Experience with software system design & architecture
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $252,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
Zoox also offers a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (e.g. sick leave, vacation, bereavement), unpaid time off, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, Amazon RSUs, health insurance, long-term care insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, and life insurance.
