ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPlan, direct, and oversee the business development initiatives for the San Francisco Bay Area.Pursue new clients in targeted sectors and provide Leadership/Principals with introductory meetings and closing opportunities.Build and maintain professional relationships with decision makers of new and existing clients; Generate referrals from existing clients.Generate and manage a pipeline through research, cold calls, and maintaining and growing MVE's extensive current clientele. (While the focus area is the Bay Area, deals can be closed deals anywhere.)In the first 6 months, make approximately 10-20 strategic outbound calls per day to set meetings.Establish credibility within the organization in demonstrating skills with early period sales presentations and closings within the first 6 months of employment.Communicates with clients and leads to identify and understand their needs; Suggests appropriate architectural services that meet prospect's requirements.Ensure client satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; Communicate client needs to Principals focusing on pain points and/or areas of opportunity.Attend and actively participate in industry-related events, conferences, and seminars in the Bay Area (and possibly Western Region), to establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to referral sales.Participate in the development of proposal strategy.Research and analyze target markets and prospective clients to develop strategic and tactical plans to grow the business.Assists Leadership with creating strategic alliances to better position the firm for success in achieving targets. (i.e., with professional design firms, contractors, developers, etc.)Provide weekly Business Development Reports which will include activities, opportunities, information, and status updates regarding sales activities.Oversee administration of relevant reporting and planning systems pertaining to sales activities.Provide guidance and mentorship to staff members in their Professional Development efforts.Build and participate in a team culture of delivering results and having fun along the way.Performs other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field.At least five years of related experience required.Strong active listening, oral, written, and verbal skills in the English language are required.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent sales and negotiation skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Self-motivated and able to succeed in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook).Other necessary characteristics include integrity, organization, attention to detail, flexibility, dependability initiative, cooperation, persistence, stress tolerance, team player and professionalism.
