On behalf of a client in the engineering industry, we are seeking a project manager II to oversee and manage a portion of all capital outlay projects statewide, from the inception of a project request through budget development, programming, design, construction, project completion, and warranty phases. This is a full-time position based in Shreveport, Louisiana.In collaboration with a facility planning and controls project manager, the project manager II will work closely with facility planning and control project managers to provide functional oversight of contracted designers, contractors, and professional consultants for state and non-state programs.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Manage capital outlay projects from initiation through completion, including budget planning, design, construction, and warranty managementCollaborate with facility planning and control project managers to provide functional oversight and supplement their work effortsLead and supervise contracted designers, contractors, and professional consultants to ensure high-quality project deliveryEnsure compliance with all project objectives, timelines, budgets, and regulatory standardsOversee the development of project schedules, budgets, and detailed progress reportsManage the construction process and address issues or changes to maintain project quality and ensure timely completionConduct thorough project reviews at key milestones and coordinate a smooth handover of completed projects, including managing the warranty phaseBuild and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and relevant state or non-state entitiesMinimum qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of 10 years of experience in architecture/engineering project managementExtensive experience in managing complex capital projects, from budget development through project completionAdditional experience working with a design firm is a plusStrong knowledge of construction processes, project lifecycle management, and regulatory requirementsExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are metPreferred qualifications:
Experience working on state or government capital projectsFamiliarity with construction contracts and contract negotiationsProficiency in project management tools and softwareEmergent Method and associated entities are equal opportunity employers.
