We are seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant/Secretary to support our legal team. Responsibilities include preparing legal documents, managing case files, coordinating schedules, and assisting with trial preparation. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, proficiency in legal software, and a solid understanding of litigation procedures. Previous experience in a law firm is preferred.Key Responsibilities:Document Preparation and Management:Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.File legal documents with courts and ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.Maintain organized and up-to-date case files, both electronic and physical.Case Management:Assist attorneys in managing case calendars, scheduling hearings, depositions, and meetings.Monitor and manage deadlines, ensuring timely submission of documents and adherence to court schedules.Coordinate and compile exhibits, evidence, and other supporting documents for trials and hearings.Client and Witness Coordination:Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and schedule meetings.Arrange and coordinate witness interviews and depositions.Maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.Administrative Support:Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing emails, and maintaining office supplies.Prepare and process billing and expense reports.Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by attorneys.Research and Investigation:Conduct legal research and gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.Assist in fact-finding and investigation to support case development.Summarize depositions, medical records, and other documents as needed.Qualifications:Education:Associate's degree in paralegal studies or a related field; bachelor's degree preferred.Paralegal certification from an accredited program is highly desirable.Experience:Previous experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary, preferably in a litigation environment.Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and legal documents.Skills:Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research tools.Ability to manage a high volume of tasks and work efficiently under pressure.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Personal Attributes:High level of professionalism and integrity.Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.Proactive and self-motivated, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.Join our team and provide critical support to our litigation attorneys, helping to deliver outstanding legal services to our clients.
