Description:
The Storage Engineer provides technical data storage engineering delivery leadership supporting a WAN/LAN transformation driven by a Telco-based approach. The candidate is responsible for designing, developing, and collaborating on new initiatives to increase customer network data stability, reliability, and interoperability using a hybrid and multi-cloud architecture and a GitOps approach.Job Details:
Operating at a global level, communicate and collaborate with various teams to derive the best solutions for an enterprise-level storage environment
Work closely with the lab team in the creation of development requirements that will lead to an uplift in the areas of automation, performance management as well as inventory management of the enterprise-level storage environment
Work within an enterprise-level storage environment
The ability to follow and deliver Product Development Life Cycle type documentation as part of the product evaluation and certification process
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to the position; an additional 4 years of may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Minimum of six (6) years of directly related experience in addition to education level
Experience in block storage products and/or in data protection products; knowledge of network and cloud storage
Competency in Windows, Linux/UNIX-like operating systems, I/O and network stack tuning and performance profiling
An understanding how to deliver reliable services out of unreliable components
Familiarity with DevOps tools and version control systems (SVN, GitLab)
Experience with engineering and operating a hybrid cloud delivery model with focus on data coherency between on-prem and off-prem components preferred
Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, Bash or other scripting languages with a focus on testing and sound SDLC practices a plus
Familiarity with hyperscalers (AWS, GCP, and Azure) and hypervisors (ESX) preferred
Experience in block storage (Dell, Hitachi), file (Netapp, Dell Unity), and/or backup solutions (Networker, DataDomain); knowledge of Elastic Search and Kibana desired
Strong analytical, problem solving, and trouble shooting skills, with the ability to adapt to new technologies
Must possess current DoD 8570 IAT/IAM II certification and a current system-specific certification (e.g. Microsoft, Cisco, Juniper, Linux, Unix, AWS, Tableau, Splunk)
Current active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph
