Responsibilities & Qualifications
The
Benefit Specialist
is responsible for assisting in the planning, developing and administering of all the health and welfare plans including but not limited to medical, dental, life and disability insurances as well as the 401K retirement benefit plans.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :Assist the Benefits Manager with the associate benefits programs such as retirement plans; medical, dental, vision plans; life insurance plans; temporary disability programs; and wellness programs.Assist Benefits Manager with the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process, including employee communications, benefits selection support, and system updatesHandle benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution; maintain contact by phone or mail, with carriers, broker, associates, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all associatesAssist with the reconciliation process and requests for payment of all benefit-related invoices (medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, group life insurance, AD&D insurance, critical illness, EAP services, COBRA administration, FSA administration, and others) on a monthly basis and in a timely mannerContinue to build knowledge of benefits-related compliance areas and perform needed activities associated to complying with federal, state and local regulations related to benefits including, but not limited to COBRA, ERISA, HIPAAMaintains associate benefits data in the human resources information system and helps coordinate the transfer of data to external vendors, plan providers, auditors and consultantsAssists in the preparation and in the communication of information to associates and former associates about benefits programs, procedures, changes, and government mandated disclosuresAssist in the preparation and distribution of written and verbal communication to inform associates of benefitsPerform other duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field requiredMinimum 1-3 years of experience in benefits administration requiredExperience with payroll systems; familiarity with Dayforce and ADP preferredExtensive knowledge of employee benefits and relevant lawsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar softwareCompany Values & Benefits
