Position Purpose:
The Digital Mastering Specialist is responsible for performing full technical evaluations of Daily Show projects and creating digital masters of assets ready for broadcast distribution. This would include identifying and correcting project anomalies and transcoding or converting file formats to specific broadcast standards required by various outlets and distribution platforms.
Essential Duties:Prepare the Daily Show projects before the creation of show master exports, transcoding media to correct formats and frame rates.Perform all day-to-day file conversion and transcoding of digital media material for the Daily Show.Produce DVD formats of the Daily Show for dubbing, local and remote viewing, and distribute DVD and DVD ISOs to other departments in the Ministry as needed, checking English subtitles and closed captioning requirements.Operate automation and renaming software following strict project formatting and naming convention policies.Perform quality assurance tests on transcoded files to maintain accuracy and reliability and meetall delivery deadlines.Create and maintain the needed folder structures on Central Storage following the established operating procedures.Stay attuned to industry standards and research ways to automate and improve current workflows.Generate and edit SOP/workflow charts.Other duties as necessary or assigned.Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of scripting language(s) and automation softwareFocus on analytical thinking and problem-solving skillsGood functional testing skills and expertise in the creation of test scriptsExperience with media management systems and post-production processAble to demonstrate an understanding of aspect ratios, frame rates, and formats used in SD and HD environmentsExperienced with digital delivery systems such as FTP servers, Dropbox, and Google DriveExperience with WeTransfer and Aspera ServerExperienced with transcoding, encoding, and editing software, especially with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Media Encoder, Encore, Photoshop, and Microsoft OfficeAbility to work independently with tight deadlines; able to identify, prioritize, and solve complex technology problemsExcellent attention to detail, multitasking, and planning skillsAble to work in a fast-paced team environmentMust be flexible and responsible to assist the Supervisor and/or IT with technical and critical systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsRequirements:
Must have a personal relationship with Jesus ChristMust sign the Statement of FaithKnowledge of the Gospel Truth Daily TV program preferredA high school diploma or equivalent education is requiredCharis Bible College student or graduate is preferredMust pass all required checksExperience:
1+ Years of Television broadcast experience in the digital post-production arena preferredBroadcast traffic operations and/or computer science, information technology experience desirableExperience in computer programming and software automation desiredCompensation is commensurate with experience
