Position Mission:As an Energywise Energy Coach at Homewise, you will guide homeowners in improving their home's energy efficiency through consultation and assessments. You will focus on conducting home energy assessments, providing ongoing education, and helping clients navigate energy-saving upgrades.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Energywise Energy Coach is responsible for the following duties:
Create Energywise Home Roadmaps:Work with other Homewise staff to design and launch the Energywise Home Roadmap program, including developing tools and systems to serve low-and moderate-income homeowners.Conduct home assessments to identify opportunities for energy-saving, safety-related, and health-related improvements, such as insulation, air sealing, and appliance upgrades.Utilize diagnostic tools like blower tests and combustion safety tests to evaluate air home performance and provide detailed and specific information to the homeowner about what upgrades would produce and what changes.Generate a client-facing report called the Energywise Home Roadmap, which will help clients make decisions about home improvements that will save them money and reduce their homes' carbon footprint.Client Consultation and Support:
Serve as the main point of contact for homeowners as they decide which improvements to pursue from their Energywise Home Roadmap.Provide ongoing education directly to clients about the benefits and prioritization of various interventions that address health, safety, durability, and energy efficiency.Distil and communicate technical information in plain language to clients.Work alongside lending staff to guide clients through the bid collection and review process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project scope.Project Approval and Follow-Up:
Provide quality control through a follow-up assessment that closes out the Energywise Home Roadmap, analyzing the carbon output reductions based on the work completed.Perform periodic inspections during course of construction projects to ensure quality and programmatic requirements are met.Requirements

Minimum Certification as BPI Building Analyst ProfessionalPreferred Certification as BPI Healthy Homes Evaluator and Quality Control Inspector.Fluency in Spanish preferred.Familiarity with fundamentals of residential home construction, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, roofing, framing, etc.At least three years of experience in energy efficiency or related fields.Relevant experience in energy auditing is preferred.Project management and construction experience preferred.Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.Homewise will provide additional training as needed in the first six months after hiring.Work Schedule:
Ability to travel with a valid license to client homes in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe metro areas as needed.Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as required.Physical Requirements:
This position requires mobility to navigate various home environments.Ability to operate blower door test, infrared camera, and climb ladder.Must be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds occasionally, crawl on hands and knees, wear PPE,
