What You Will Be Doing
The Director of Finance will report directly to Chief Financial Officer (CFO), should be experienced in all aspects of financial management, partnership and corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The Director of Finance should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an excellent understanding of real estate and construction business.
Essential Job FunctionsEnsure quality control over financial transactions and financial reportingKnowledge of US GAAP and other financial standards and requirementsSupervise month-end and year-end close process including review of reports prior to distribution to stakeholders.Prepare timely monthly consolidated financial statementsCoordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, variance reports and financial dashboardsPrepare regulatory reporting including annual and periodic review auditsManage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsResearch technical accounting issues for compliance and CFO as neededDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsUnderstanding of taxation, payroll and other fiscal aspects of a businessAssist CFO with management of all accounting operationsAdditional duties as necessaryRequired Qualifications
5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experienceCPA requiredExperience with construction organizations preferredThorough knowledge of accounting principles and proceduresExperience with financial statement preparation for all types of legal entitiesExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process and consolidationsExperience in preparing and review of partnership, corporate, payroll and tax filingsExperience with various accounting software administrationExcellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
