JOB INFORMATION:
Job Title: General Manager of FinanceDepartment(s): 5070 - FinanceLocation(s): Hutchinson IslandFLSA Status: Exempt
JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the GM of Finance directs all the Georgia Ports Authority pricing analysis, financial analysis, forecast, and budgets.
Upholds the values of the GPA to promote Safety, Integrity, Respect, Community, Creativity and Opportunity. Promotes a safe work environment by participating in safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
JOB DUTIES:
Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the Controller; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep CFO informed of the budget status.Prepare monthly forecasts and periodically generate fiscal year projections as requested by CFO.Support annual financial audit. Provide supporting documentation and schedules in preparation of The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report as needed.Review and post month end revenue journal entries by working with Billing and Collections. Prepare month-end revenue by customer, revenue variance reports/explanations, and tonnage reports.Prepare revenue budget with the support/input of Trade Development.Perform return on investment (ROI) analysis on capital investments by working with the Controller and Operations.Oversees and reviews the capital budgets and approval processes.Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts/budgets.Supports the development of long-range strategic plans and forecasts. Develops schedule, coordinates all data, manages staff reviews, develops presentation package and coordinates presentation to Board and state officials.Provides support for customer contracts and leases. Works with internal team to develop lease budget.Collaborate with the Billing, Credit and Collection functions.Develop predictive financial models to support complex organizational decision-making.Create written reports that enable management teams to make strategic decisions to meet business goals.Support contract negotiations by creating financial projections.Support Operations by providing cost center financial analysis as needed.Prepare projections for Trade Development as new services and customers are evaluated.Provide ad hoc financial analysis as requested by CFO and President.Support ERP and financial systems implementation/process review.Improve processes and create efficiencies.Maintain the proper environment of ethics, quality, and integrity in the Finance Division.
