The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.
We are looking for a
Production Manager
to manage production for an assigned area or shift of the cannery during tomato fresh pack season. This role will be responsible for supporting maintenance and operations departments, during off-season, to ensure timely and effective support and cost-effective equipment overhaul and repair for season readiness at our San Benito Foods plant in Hollister, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
During the fresh pack season, oversees production functions for assigned shift; including managing cannery operations: receiving/bulk dump operations, hot breaks and finishing, peeling/sorting/dicing, evaporation, and put away. Coordinates with functional managers to ensure needs of the operation are met. May manage plant operations in the absence of the Plant Manager or other managers during the fresh pack season. Maintains and executes the systems and processes that ensure production runs meet output and delivery schedules. Ensures efficient and effective operations, maintaining a low-cost manufacturing environment with emphasis on optimizing employee safety, food safety and quality, and productivity. Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business, Production Operations, or related field; or, any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the key responsibilities of this position. 6 years' demonstrated food manufacturing with supervisory experience in roles of increasing responsibility. Experience in tomato processing, including peeling and evaporation processing systems. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Word. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, credit screen, and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October. Compensation:
The salary range is $102,160 - $127,700, based on experience and qualifications.
