Job Description
In anticipation of project funding (expected March 2024), Torch Technologies, a 100% Employee-owned company, is currently seeking qualified software engineering professionals to support the design and build of software defined tools and frameworks for control, data acquisition, testing, and analysis of integrated embedded vehicle systems. Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) at Detroit Arsenal, MI. Initial tasking will be supporting multiple ground vehicle programs in a GVSC System Integration Lab (SIL) integrating operational hardware, software platforms and sub-systems into a larger test environment to support software development, assessment, and integration into the Army Ground Vehicle Enterprise. A well-suited applicant will be a self-motivated individual capable of working independently and within a multi-disciplinary team with contractors and government employees. They must also possess good oral and written communication skills. Candidate will sit on site with the customer at GVSC.
Job Requirements
Qualified candidates will have direct experience with the following:
Experience with Electronic Control SystemsExperience with GitHub and/or other software management softwareExperience with Electrical/Electronics laboratory equipment and environmentDevelop and implement software applications to integrate J1939, Extended CAN, MIL-STD-1553, and other vehicle data bus systems information with vehicle test benches.Develops vehicle test bench systems by designing, developing, and installing and utilizing package API software solutions.Working knowledge and experience with ANSI C, C++, JAVA, C#, Vector CAPL, and other procedural and object-oriented languages as well as various vehicle data bus systems.Qualified candidates will have an interest or experience in one of the following areas:Developing software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.Hardware and Software IntegrationHardware interface testingDetermining operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.Re-engineering, T&E, or related experience with DoD Ground and weapon platforms is a plusEducation and Experience Requirements:B.S. or greater in Electrical Engineering or other technical discipline is required with 5 years experience. Relevant graduate degrees will be given preference.Previous experience as an Electronics Lead will be given preferencePrevious experience in a Software-in the-Loop or Hardware-in-the-loop lab will be given preferencePrevious experience with Ground Vehicle Platform is preferred, but not requiredAdditional Requirements:Candidate must be a U.S CitizenDuty Station - Detroit ArsenalThis position requires the candidate meet requirements to obtain a final secret security clearance to access classified information. Inability to obtain a secret clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
