Job Description
THE POSITIONSoftware Developers are responsible for the following results:·
Maintain and enhance a mixture of business software·
Follow GVI technology standards for analysis, design, programming, testing, and support of software solutions·
Commit to assisting in developing clear business requirements·
Confer with peers and users to define and resolve business data processing problems·
Express ideas for process improvements to increase flexibility, reduce costs, and improve user experience·
Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing tasks as assigned·
Cross-train as needed to support or back up team members·
Promote positive relationships internally and externally·
Seek to present zero defect products to the Quality Assurance and Production environments·
Seek continual improvement of system availability, performance, and workflow·
Mentor and train others to use standards for analysis, design, coding, testing, and support of successful software solutions·
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of project methodologies, e.g., estimating, use cases, testing·
Provide support to the team, department and company regarding architectural design and strategy·
Full lifecycle development front to back of .Net based application·
Contribute to a DevOps culture and development of continuous integration processes and tools·
Required technical skills include:Development Frameworks – Microsoft .Net 4, C#, ASP.Net, MVC, Entity Framework 5 or laterWeb/E-Commerce – XML, HTML 5,
JavaScript, CSS 3, J-QueryApplication Tools – Visual Studio 2013/2015, IIS, TFSDesktop Software – Microsoft Office SuiteOperating System – WindowsSoftware concepts and patterns - Object Oriented, Relational Database Design. N-Tier DesignDatabase – Oracle, Oracle SQL, PLSQL
EDUCATIONThe preferred candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree and six years’ related experience or ten to twelve years related experience with the technology required of the open position.EXPERIENCE PREFERREDThe preferred candidate has noteworthy experience in the following areas:·
Project development methodologies (full development lifecycle) with Agile/Scrum/DevOps experience·
Requirements gathering·
Relational database analysis, design and construction·
Trouble analysis and resolution with individual software applications and multi-application interfaces·
Travel industry business a plus·
Global Distribution System (GDS) experience is highly sought·
Preferred
Technical Skills:o
Development Frameworks – WCF, WebAPI 2.2, WinForms , Linq, ADOo
Web/E-Commerce – Angular, React.JS, Typescripto
Desktop Software – TOADo
Software concepts and patterns - SOA, PubSub, Messaging BUS, Test Driven Developmento
Experience with NoSQL Databases (Mongo, etc.)o
Understanding of version control, continuous integration, and deployment toolso
