Product Specialist

As a Product Specialist the successful candidate will be creating new and maintaining existing products to individual customer specification. They will also effectively interface with the customer service team, customers, product testing agencies, purchasing, quality and production teams to best satisfy customer needs. Establish and develop relationships with customers. Develop new products based on sales/marketing information and industrial certifications.

operates a modern 125,000 sq. ft. facility based in Western Massachusetts and specializes in manufacturing a wide range of custom design and standard construction products-from single conductor hook-up wire to complex multi conductor composite cables.
Essential Functions
Including, but not limited to,
Provide EIS Sales with Cost Estimates on customer RFQ's on products and work with customers to ensure they receive the best product for their needsWriting specifications (BOMs and Routings), design for manufacturingMaintain ERP and design files dailyMaintain and adjust materials and work center costs as neededCreate customer specifications for new productsCommunication with customers on product design & capabilityMaintain customer cross references and drawingsInteracting with UL, CSA, MSHA on new and current approvals and develop in-depth knowledge of UL, CSA and MSHACommunicate with suppliers on material capabilitiesDesign and test/troubleshoot new product linesControl of Engineering Change Notice processDevelop and Improve processes throughout the plantWork Closely with Cost Accounting & ITECN ProcessingTravel may be requiredOther duties as assignedReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which does require the use of personal protective equipment including safety glasses with side shields, steel toe shoes, and mandatory hearing protection.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Preferred Education and Experience
Experience with BOM and Router creationBachelor's degree and four to six years' related experience or training.Prior experience with Cablebuilder and MS Access software will be a strong plus.Experience in interfacing with UL, CSA and MSHA agencies.Six sigma and/or lean manufacturing exposure.The EIS premier benefits package includes:
