This position is responsible for managing logistics, transportation and supply chain activities for outbound transportation inclusive of small package (parcel, pool delivery) delivery, and distribution coordinated with new stores, remodels, and closings through variable supply chain channels to assure business needs are met and/or exceeded. Foster carrier relationships, maintain a benchmarking network, and provide analysis and reports of industry trends, risks, and anticipated impact; utilizes that information to ensure cost effective on-time delivery to the customer. This leader will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following key duties:Manage the partnerships with national parcel providers, regional parcel providers, and pool delivery agents to provide cost and service effective store deliveries.Line-haul services in support of any solutions
Responsible for carrier RFI, RFP, onboarding, SOP documentation, system integration coordination, and operations management.Assists with the management of the transportation budget and revised forecasts as it relates to outbound customer delivery.Partners with transportation, supply chain ops, real estate, and procurement teams to improve/automate processes and procedures.Creates, manages and utilizes reporting tools for carrier assessment: monitoring on-time performance, costs, claims ratio, and other operational needs.Leads freight auditor process improvement as it relates to TL, LTL, Intermodal, and small package services.With a dotted line to analytics, develop the Transportation Analysts as it relates to domestic transportation
Works cross-functionally, understanding business needs, to make customer focused, cost effective decisions.Makes independent, sound decisions that support the business initiatives and goals.Provides a high degree of education of transportation, as well as a learning attitude.Supports and fosters distribution center(s) diverse culture and employee engagement initiatives.Possesses a high degree of customer service, always exceeding expectations.May have direct report/people management responsibilities in the future.Additional duties and projects as required.Required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and at least 5 - 7 years' additional experience in transportation, with vendor onboarding and direct carrier management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. People management/leadership experience is a plus. Internal JD Finish Line experience is a plus.
Required Computer and/or Technical Skills:
Should have advanced knowledge and abilities with Google Suite, Access, Excel, but also the ability to learn WMS, TMS, Power BI, or other applications.
