Wilson & Company is actively seeking a Senior Project Manager, holding a Professional Engineer license, with at least 10 years of experience in Water/Wastewater engineering. The role, available in either our Las Cruces or El Paso offices, entails leading the technical delivery of projects, managing client expectations and relationships, overseeing project performance to manage schedule and budget, contributing to business development, and coordinating workloads across multidisciplinary teams. This position will oversee the design and execution of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including systems for water supply and distribution, wastewater collection, treatment facilities, and effluent reuse.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Water/Wastewater engineering, covering a full range of services from planning and design to construction oversight. Proficiency in developing USDA-RUS compliant preliminary engineering reports, preparing construction documents, and coordinating bidding and construction processes is essential. The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of multiple large-scale, interdisciplinary projects, ensuring timely completion while managing project budgets and working collaboratively with engineers and operational leaders to allocate project workloads and provide status updates. A strong ability to foster relationships within the water/wastewater sector of Wilson and Company and across the firm is crucial for success in this position.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide technical direction and supervision to licensed and non-licensed engineers, designers, and other production personnel who collectively range widely in experience. Comprehensive knowledge of engineering studies, reports, and design requirements needed to complete projects. Design of water systems such as storage tanks, booster pump station, transmission and distribution lines, groundwater wells, and water treatment facilities. Design of wastewater systems including collection systems, lift stations, force mains, and wastewater treatment processes. Design of effluent reuse systems such as tertiary filtration, storage, disinfection, pumping, and distribution. Familiarity and/or experience with federal and state funding programs for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Lead the marketing and business development efforts for the water/wastewater team. Required Skills:
Leadership and Management Proficiency. High level of confidence and strong work ethic. Demonstrated teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Inherent high degree of interpersonal and effective communication skills. Desire to mentor, develop and work with younger professionals. Competence to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage a wide range of projects. Ability to develop and manage business relationships with private and public clients. Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited college or university. Master's degree in a field directly relevant to water and wastewater treatment is considered a plus. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in municipal water infrastructure design. Active licensure in NM or TX, and ability be licensed in both states. Experience with modeling software, such as WaterCAD and SewerCAD is a plus. Active licensure in other states a plus. Experience in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D for design plan production is considered a plus.
Salary range:
$75,000 to $185,000
