Title :
Windchill 6.0 Database Developer/DBA with Oracle 9i Expertise
We are seeking a skilled Database Developer/DBA on a full-time contract basis to play a critical role in managing and optimizing our Windchill PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system's database within an Oracle 9i environment. Responsibilities: Database Development and Administration:
Design, implement, and maintain the Windchill 6.0 database within an Oracle 9i environment, ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and security. Develop and fine-tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support Windchill PLM functionalities and reporting requirements. Proactively monitor and troubleshoot database-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and system errors to maintain system availability and reliability. Conduct regular database backups, implement disaster recovery plans, and ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or data loss. Collaborate with the development team to implement data models, schema changes, and database upgrades as needed to support Windchill PLM enhancements and new feature releases.
Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL):
Design and develop robust ETL processes to seamlessly extract, transform, and load data between Windchill PLM and other enterprise systems, enabling data integration and interoperability. Leverage data transformation tools and techniques to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with data governance policies. Create and maintain clear and comprehensive data mapping documentation and ETL workflows to facilitate data lineage and traceability.
Windchill Schema Expertise:
Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Windchill 6.0 schema, its objects, relationships, and dependencies within the Oracle 9i database. Optimize data storage and retrieval strategies based on Windchill PLM's data model to enhance system performance and user experience. Provide expert guidance and recommendations on data modeling best practices and schema design considerations within the Windchill PLM context.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Windchill PLM administrators, developers, engineers, and IT, to align database strategies with business objectives and ensure seamless system integration. Effectively communicate technical concepts, database design decisions, and solution recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Stay abreast of emerging database technologies, Windchill PLM updates, and industry trends to continuously improve database management practices and contribute to innovation.
Qualifications:
Experience:
3+ years of hands-on experience in database development and administration, specifically with Oracle 9i. Demonstrated experience working with Windchill PLM 6.0 and a solid understanding of its schema and data model. Proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining ETL processes for data integration. Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, data modeling techniques, and database performance tuning.
Knowledge and Skills:
In-depth knowledge of relational database concepts, normalization principles, and database security best practices. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve database-related issues effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and articulate technical information clearly. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in Oracle and Windchill PLM are highly desirable.
