Job Description
Basic Function
Lead the design, test, and troubleshoot of automated test systems for Brooks Instrument’s high-volume manufacturing lines. Collaborate with software engineers to develop, design, and integrate electro-mechanical control systems into mechanical frameworks.
Utilize skills to perform complex calculations related to Control System Design for Gas& Liquid Flow Measurement& Control.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the technical planning, design and architecture of electro-mechanical test stands for the manufacturing of precision flow control instruments.
Develop and maintain documentation for new and existing systems, including developing CAD mechanical models, electrical and wiring schematics, P&ID, and bill of materials.
Integrate mechanical components with electrical systems to ensure they work together seamlessly. This may involve wiring, connecting sensors and actuators, and programming control systems.
Track and manage equipment projects to support new product or production needs on schedule.
Work with stakeholders to understand test specifications and create concise requirements for the mechanical and software engineering groups.
Provide input or mechanical hardware equipment recommendation to integrate within the stands.
Evaluate design tradeoffs, balance technical risk of test/production equipment systems, define and assess software interfaces, and provide oversight of assembly and verification activities
Oversee stand development and lead the testing, troubleshooting, and integration of assemblies and sub-components.
Design equipment with components such as sensors, actuators, and other electromechanical devices.
Create accurate project documentation, including schematics and operational manuals.
Conduct testing and verification of equipment meeting defined requirements.
Conducting research to adopt the latest technologies and improve system performance.
Work with manufacturing, engineering, and service organizations to implement and validate advanced manufacturing processes into production.
Provide support to global manufacturing and service centers with troubleshooting and solving test stand issues.
Provide supervision and direction to the hardware development team managing equipment and project schedules on time.
