AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer - Highway / Transportation Design in Pittsburgh, PA.

Projects range from roadway and site-civil design, highway and bridge projects, traffic engineering analysis, and transportation planning studies.

Current notable projects include:

I-80 Reconstruction (Jefferson County, PA) - Six-mile section of rural interstate reconstruction including mainline widening, interchange ramp improvements, and reconstruction of two overhead bridges.

I-70 Reconstruction (Washington County, PA) - Model-based delivery project for a six-mile section of rural interstate reconstruction including mainline widening, interchange ramp improvements, and reconstruction of 18 structures through the corridor.

W Washington St Reconstruction (Bradford, PA) - Drainage model-based delivery pilot project for a one-mile section of urban corridor, including full depth roadway reconstruction, sidewalk improvements and drainage upgrades.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Develop design criteria, horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, barrier/guiderail design, and spot elevation details

Identify utility conflicts and coordinate resolutions based on interdisciplinary constructability reviews, client feedback, and utility needs

Develop construction specifications, quantities, and cost estimates

Implement 3D CADD modeling techniques

Develop technical reports, tables, and graphics per client and/or internal AECOM standards

Adhere to and promote AECOM quality procedures

Complete interdisciplinary technical reviews

Contribute to internal project-related staffing decisions to facilitate meeting client schedule, scope, and budget

Prepare presentations that explain technical findings, recommendations, and limitations

Interact with regulatory agencies, clients, and subconsultants in a professional manner as required by the AECOM project manager

Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff

Work collaboratively as part of a larger design team to proactively meet the client’s scope, budget, and schedule through ethical and responsible decision making.

Provide support to AECOM project managers and department managers

Performs technical quality reviews including documentation in project record in accordance with policies and procedures

Assists with proposals to provide services or obtain funding for projects or programs

Work is accomplished autonomously on small projects or portions of larger projects within established procedures and practices

Generally free to determine work priorities based on direction from manager and project team leads

Provides leadership by coordinating work of others
