Position SummaryA member of the Event Crew/ Operations Changeover Team you will report directly to the Event Operations Crew Leader. The position is primarily responsible for the changeover in the assigned location (s) from one event to another. Additionally, as a member of the Event Crew Team you may be involved in other aspects of building maintenance to include painting, trash disposal, exterior facility care, snow removal, furniture moving, etc. This responsibility requires physical labor and heavy lifting and therefore has lifting requirements. The Operations Changeover Team is a vital component of the venue in responding to the needs of promoters and clients – a positive attitude and a positive appearance are essential.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $15.00.

About the VenueSteven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art facility with a seating capacity of approximately 3,000. The venue is located in downtown Greensboro at 300 N. Elm Street. A $94M, state-of-the-art facility that has transformed downtown Greensboro (NC), the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts venue is home to touring Broadway productions, concerts, Guilford College’s Bryan Series, Greensboro Symphony Orchestra performances, comedy shows and all types of family entertainment.

In its remarkable first two years, the Tanger Center has hosted over 700,000 patrons, 382 events and performances and 146 sold-out shows. Presented with partners Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management (PFM), the First Bank Broadway Series is one of the nation’s top-selling one-week Broadway series with over 16,000 Season Seat Members.

Responsibilities

Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events.

Setting-up and tearing down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment.

Responding to promoter/clients’ needs as directed.

Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Assist, when necessary, with pre/post event cleaning.

Meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and around the facility, walking the entire shift, bending, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and moderate to loud noises.

Maintain outside grounds including parking areas, entrances, event plaza and snow removal as required.

Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed such as painting, patching, and other conversion related operational equipment

Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts or other light power equipment. Training and certification required.

Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment.

Work effectively under pressure and stringent schedule to produce accurate results.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the ability to perform all essential duties and responsibilities in a satisfactory manner. Work flexible shifts, including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedule.

Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Experience: 1 to 3 years of event change over experience.

Ability to work under deadlines driven by event schedules and project timetables.

Ability to work independently and as a team.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Working Conditions:

Extensive time spent with moderate to loud noises.

Frequent bending, lifting 50 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, standing for long periods of time, extensive walking throughout the facility.
