Position SummaryDispatcher is a part-time, hourly position that primarily works events.
Position will be responsible for dispatching and tracking incidents in assigned location during events.
This role will pay an hourly rate between $15.00.
For PT roles: Benefits: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.
This position will remain open until November 30, 2024
About the VenueThe Greensboro Coliseum Complex is a versatile multi-building facility that serves the community of Greensboro and its surrounding areas. It hosts a wide array of events, such as athletic competitions, cultural arts showcases, concerts, theater performances, educational activities, fairs, exhibits, as well as public and private gatherings, including conventions, convocations, trade shows, and consumer shows. It plays a crucial role as a hub of community activities and significantly contributes to the regional economy.
The Complex is made up of nine venues, the largest being the renowned 22,000-seat Greensboro Coliseum, which has a storied history of hosting prestigious ACC and NCAA basketball championships, and a concert history featuring legendary artists like Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Phish, as well as today’s biggest artists like Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift.
The Complex also includes the 167,000-square foot Special Events Center, encompassing three exhibition halls, a 4,500-seat mini-arena, and eight meeting rooms. Additionally, there's White Oak Amphitheatre, Piedmont Hall, the Novant Health Fieldhouse, Greensboro Aquatic Center, The Terrace, ACC Hall of Champions, and the 300-seat Odeon Theatre.
Responsibilities
Consistently provide an experience that exceeds guests’ expectations by using good judgement and common sense without compromising facility safety and security.
Serves as communication liaison between departments (i.e. housekeeping, security, medical, etc.).
Responds to all Guest Experience staff members communications via two-way radio, phone, 24/7 mobile devices, or text.
Works in partnership with the venue leadership to ensure that the appropriate services are deployed to each incident.
Coordinates calls for service requiring timely assistance from representatives of the venue and its partners.
Respond to incoming guest related communication and service requests.
Utilizes two-way radios, computers, and incident management software to monitor and record incidents throughout each event.
Responds to Team Members’ inquiries regarding ballpark policies, promotions, and events.
Manages radio communication on Event Services, Guest Services and Engineering
(Operations) channels, as well as other mediums such as telephone, as well text and instant messages.
At the conclusion of each event, compiles and submits appropriate reports and other relevant documentation.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
preferred.
At least three (3) years of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment, and able to handle a variety of customer needs in a professional manner.
Previous public safety or first responder radio dispatch experience is preferred.
Ability to use and communicate via text and instant messaging communication platforms.
Ability to read, understand, and communicate policies, procedures, and other stadium information.
Possess a positive attitude and strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Punctual and reliable attendance.
Be available to work a variety of shifts including: days, evenings, weekends, holidays on event days throughout the year.
Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the venue for prolonged periods of time.
Fluently bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Possess a high degree of professionalism, integrity, discretion and accountability.
