Emergency Preparedness Coordinator
NATURE OF WORK
Emergency Preparedness Coordinator is a point of contact for response in disaster and preparedness for the City of Gary. This role is to provide information and resources by assessing the health, safety and disaster needs for the city.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform as a liaison to the Gary Health Department for emergency preparedness needs Coordinate scheduling and participate in planning partner meetings with District 1 Supervise volunteers and student interns that will assist in preparedness and school activities Prepare materials, inventory and etc. for regular pod set-up and throughput drills Participate in formal trainings such as NIMS, IDOH, FEMA, AAR, PPE, IHEEPS, etc. Attend and schedule local health department meetings, partner meetings, and district meetings Complete quarterly deliverables as defined by state grant
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or higher Must have a valid driver's license Experience in disaster & emergency preparedness
OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the supervision of the Fire Chief
