This role requires working in our San Jose, CA office and lab every day. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our NETGEAR NFB Switch products by designing comprehensive test cases, executing thorough testing processes, and communicating effectively with product engineers and support teams.Key Responsibilities:On-Site Work:Work daily in the San Jose, CA office and lab.Travel to customer site when required. Travel frequency no more than once a quarter.Test Design and Planning:Design full coverage test cases, test plans, and test setups for each product release.Create effective test plans based on product resources and project schedules.Test Execution:Execute test cases with an effective plan based on product resources.Bug Management:Create detailed bug reports during the testing process.Track and manage bugs until they are resolved.Communication:Communicate with product engineers (PE) and support teams about any concerns from created bugs or escalated field issues.Troubleshooting:Troubleshoot network problems and identify the root cause of component issues with real bugs.Quality Assurance:Act as the quality gatekeeper for NETGEAR NFB Switch products.Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in network L2/L3 testing.Skills:Independent execution ability to design full coverage test cases based on product requirements.Ability to design effective test plans based on project schedules.Proficiency in executing test plans and managing the bug fix process.Strong ability to create detailed bug reports with minimal reproducibility steps.Competence in reporting test results and processes in weekly/daily meetings.Strong knowledge of networking protocols and concepts, layer2 switching, VLAN, Spanning tree, LACP, Data Center Bridging (DCB), Priority Flow Control (PFC), Enhanced Transmission Selection (ETS).Familiarity with fiber transceivers (1G/10G/25G/40G/100G/400G) testing.Proficiency in using IXIA/TestCenter for L2/L3/L4 protocol and performance testing.Familiarity with Windows, Mac, Linux, and mobile device OS and test environments.Familiarity with Python programming language.Preferred Skills:Experience with PTPv1/PTPv2/AES67/SMPTE/AVB protocol testing.Ability to negotiate with product engineers regarding bug validation.Competence in designing integration test setups based on system and user scenarios.Ability to work closely with QA and PE teams in different time zones.Enthusiasm for learning and exploring new features or standards.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000-$160,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
