Management Staff– Non-exempt (Teamsters Local 214) REPORTS TO:
Vice Chancellor for Economic & Workforce Development SUMMARY OF PURPOSE:
Responsible for the leadership and day-to-day administration and direction of the Grants office and functions. This includes working across the college for oversight, researching, writing, monitoring, and compliance reporting for a range of federal, state, and other grants. This position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Economic & Workforce Development. This position is expected to work in a multi-cultural diverse working environment. TYPICAL DUTIES: This description is intended to indicate the types of duties and responsibilities requested of the employee assigned this title. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required. Serves as key or main point of contact and liaison with federal, state and other agencies or individuals for grant funding. Ensures compliance with the rule and regulations administered by the grantor. Supervises, delegates and monitors other grant staff or support. Performs timely submission of grant applications/proposals and reports, development and adjustment of associated budget, coordination of budgeted funds, screening and processing requests for expenditures and ensuring the timely application for reimbursement. Serves as a liaison with principals and other college departments/staff on all issues regarding grants. Monitors interventions and programs funded by grants to ensure compliance with grantor guidelines. Assigns certain grants and/or related responsibilities to individual budget analysis and coordinates their activities related to the grants assigned. Assists in evaluating the fiscal administration of grant programs. Research grant opportunities, write and coordinate the preparation and timely submission of grant applications, application amendments, budget transfers, and other details. Maintain a master record of grant activity, to include all funding agencies, grants applied for, grant proposals, grant awards and other related detail. Works with Controller to assist with the annual audit. Monitors, inputs, reviews, and approves grant data in applicable reporting systems. Performs other related duties as required. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge of grant writing and processing including accounting and financial reporting. Proficient in the use of financial management software to include spreadsheets and databases. Ability to interpret complex grant funding requirements, submissions, and budget projections. Ability to interpret federal, state, and local government laws and regulations regarding grant administration. Ability to review the work of others to ensure conformance to standards Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills including the ability to synthesize information and distill to compelling and succinct form. Ability to work effectively across a broad spectrum of staff. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit/grants management, or related field; Masters preferred EXPERIENCE: Minimum five (5) years’ experience with grant management required.
