Northrop Grumman Space Systems Strategic Deterrent Systems Division is seeking a

Director of Software Engineering 1

to lead the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division Software team in supporting all programs across the Division. The position will be located in

Roy, UT, Huntsville AL or Manhattan Beach, CA .

The Director of Software Engineering 1 position has the following duties and responsibilities:

Work in partnership with the Segments, Program Management Team and Program Leadership to define and enable execution of the Software statement of work in alignment with the customer SOW.

Responsible for leading the team consisting of the software requirements, architecture and system design, Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) certification, code development and software test disciplines.

Lead and direct software working groups charter with internal and customer stakeholders.

Establish Software Community of Practice (COP) leveraging the best in class industry knowledgebase.

Key member of the program leadership team to help create the alignment with the division software strategy.

Responsible for oversight of the end-to-end software development.

Maintain open communications with all Enterprise functions including Engineering, Quality, GSC, Logistics, Engineering Services and Segments.

Development and execution of long-range plans and strategies while providing the most effective resources by skillsets to the program.

Experience working with Digital Environment integrating and reporting across the program.

Outline specific objectives and processes that are focused on generating innovative solutions to moderately complex business problems.

Hire and develop the diverse skilled employees, establish the mentorship and coaching culture including growing and strengthening the leadership bench.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field and a minimum 10 years of related experience.

5 years’ experience in a formal management/lead position.

3+ years experience with:

Management experience leading a technical and complex program effort.

Experience developing and administering budgets and standards of performance.

Experience in developing and implementing technologies associated with production processes with efficient and sustainable implementation.

U.S. Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance with investigation date/periodic review within last 5 years and ability to obtain program special access.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Preferred candidate will be a proven leader; problem solver; possess a strong work ethic; and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders and both internal and external customers.

Familiarity with Northrop Grumman project execution, processes and procedures.

Knowledge and experience with IFC and Agile software development in a classified environment.

Salary Range:

$181,000 - $314,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
