The ideal candidate takes cases from start to finish and is a seasoned litigator with real experience in Florida's state and federal courts. This attorney will work directly with the firm's owner and assist with the daily supervision of all litigation. This job involves daily communication with parties and counsel, research and writing, planning for and attendance at hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and even appeals. We hire excellent people and empower them to manage their cases and be successful without micromanagement.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and independently execute tactical and strategic case decisionsWork with substantive knowledge of business and commercial litigation issuesAdvanced legal writing abilityPreparation and arguing of dispositive motions and evidentiary hearingsTrial of non-jury cases; jury trials a plusOffer guidance and direction to junior attorneys and staffAnalyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clientsPrepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedingsConduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneysQualificationsMust be a member of The Florida Bar in good standing.Must be admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of FloridaAbout South Florida Business Law GroupWe help businesses when they have to go to court so they can go back to making money.
