Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Public Affairs and Communications Strategy Planner to support MARFORPAC at Camp Smith, HI and work onsite.Provides support to communication planning and integration in support of the MARFORPAC Campaign Plan and Order; supports MARFORPAC battle rhythm events; and aligns and coordinates Public Affairs (PA) and Communication Strategy and Operations (COMMSTRAT) efforts with Higher and Adjacent Headquarters (HAHQ) headquarters and subordinate commands.Support battlespace awareness development, communication planning, and communication assessment in support of MARFORPAC-related deployments; operations, activities, and investments (OAIs); and other key initiatives.Assist the MARFORPAC COMMSTRAT Future Operations (FOPS) and Plans Branch in communication planning for Operations Plans (OPLANS) and Concept Plans (CONPLANS).Improve PA/COMMSTRAT planning processes and procedures within MARFORPAC and subordinate command staffs; support HAHQ and subordinate commands in their planning to ensure effective employment of PA/COMMSTRAT resources; and review and provide inputs on PA/COMMSTRAT aspects of regional plans and operations.Provide expert advice and recommendations on PA/COMMSTRAT doctrine and policy for joint commands and operations - especially instances involving Marine Corps equities. This includes guidance on the functions and organization of Marine Service component headquarters and other command elements.Develop positions and proposed changes to existing or new Information-related doctrine as required.Assist the continued development and execution of PA/COMMSTRAT actions to support the MARFORPAC long-range vision and strategic plans.Participate in cross-organizational working groups, representing command PA/COMMSTRAT equities within the service, joint, and civilian communities.Apply accepted and proposed planning frameworks to address complex conceptual and deliberate planning problems.Possess in-depth knowledge of operational planning, communication synchronization, and service and joint doctrine, to provide authoritative technical leadership and guidance to the MARFORPAC and subordinate command staffs.Provide technical leadership and direction to MARFORPAC and subordinate Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) staff personnel in the development, revision, and review of OPLANS and CONPLANS and the planning and assessment of OAIs.Conduct research and analysis to inform communication strategies and ensure alignment with MARFORPAC objectives.
Qualifications

Education: Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhDMust have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and have knowledge of public affairs protocols.Must have extensive experience working with the Department of Defense, INDOPACOM, and the USMCCritical thinking skills and the ability to effectively collaborate and contribute to a team are required.Knowledge of the U.S. military structure, culture, and language.Must be able to develop and brief technically complex information to senior military and civilian leadership.Clearance: DoD Secret Clearance
Target Salary Range
