The Force Protection Planner will provide technical support to MARFORPAC for all official exercise activities, in order to support recommendations for the design, planning, preparations, execution and evaluation of joint, combined, and Service level exercises with the purpose to rehearse plan-based tasks and train operational commanders and staffs. The Force Protection Planner may serve in duties within exercise planning or execution to include integration of Force Protection planning requirements into USINDOPACOM OPLANS/CONPLANS. The Force Protection Planner will perform the following duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide recommendations based upon the results of OPLAN analysis, regarding conventional force employment, survivability and lethality-enhancing concepts, capabilities, technologies, and solutions.Conduct threat assessment and survivability analysis of personnel, facilities, equipment, and provide a survivability plan for the preparation of planning documents that enable MARFORPAC to protect critical resources and capabilities; deter and counter evolving and asymmetric threats (e.g. Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs), Unmanned Systems, etc.); and proactively posture itself in executing its missions and roles.Develop recommendations for Force Protection concepts of operations (CONOPS), tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), roadmaps, AARs, assessments, and information papers.Develop a security risk assessment methodology that provides a qualitative assessment of protection, and security and emergency services-related actions, results and related performance standards.Provide analyses for MARFORPAC, and other Commands (e.g., National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), Department of State (DoS), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Combatant Commands, and subordinate components) for the development of plans, CONOPS, TTPs, and other formal documents for force protection requirements.Conduct research and analysis and support Information Operations planning into the USINDOPACOM Information Operations process to protect U.S. national interests.Conduct schedules in-progress reviews and confirmation briefs; participate by answering questions and providing input to topics; prepare and deliver associated meeting minutes.Arrange and facilitate After-Action Review (AAR) and lessons learned meetings. Attend LOO and LOE working group meetings as the G-3 representative.Produce trip reports.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCESix + years of experience and a BA/BS is required, MA/MS degree preferred.Attended Professional Military Education appropriate to rank at time of separation or retirement from the uniformed service.Demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at MAGTF or Joint/combined command level required.Possess a thorough knowledge of USMARFOR operations in relation to OPLANs/CONPLANS and exercise scenarios in the Pacific.Experience on a 3 Star or 4 Star staff is desired.CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIESRequired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAdvanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.).Advanced proficiency in written and verbal communication.Have a working knowledge of the Marine Corps and Joint Planning Process.WORKING CONDITIONSRequired to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONSA TS/SCI clearance is required for this position.Travel may be required.Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
