POSITION OVERVIEW
The Marketing Technology Director, reports to the Vice President of Marketing, focusing on reaching new and current audiences through the always-evolving marketing technology stack. This role ensures that all marketing technologies are integrated, optimized, and aligned with the overall marketing strategy and business goals. Additionally, the Director plays a crucial role in creating seamless and engaging customer journeys across the entire funnel, enhancing the overall customer experience and driving business growth.
The Marketing Technology Director will work closely with the entire marketing department to communicate Burn Boot Camp’s mission and value proposition across all touchpoints and support efforts to execute and amplify marketing tech strategies. Empowering our business through marketing data is one of the key measurements of success for this role. This role will be the thought leader for how Burn uses data to change our brand strategy, growth channels, technology solutions, and how we communicate to our members. Experience with using data to drive decisions, and various methods and tools to collect more data and make that data actionable for our business is a requirement.
The Marketing Technology Director should be a strong communicator, have a depth of working knowledge in marketing, have experience working with data, websites, mobile applications, CRM, email marketing, and work to deploy excellent attention to detail.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing technology strategy
Evaluate and select marketing technology platforms that align with business objectives
Deliver marketing technology and marketing data analytics projects on time and on budget
Oversee the integration of various marketing tools and systems to ensure seamless operation and data flow
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of marketing data across all platforms
Leverage analytics and reporting tools to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and technologies
Directly lead the Marketing Technology vertical positions as the team grows
Assist VP of Marketing with research planning and execution to inform marketing strategy
Partner with revenue stream owners to determine which products and promotions should be highlighted in email targeting campaigns
Drive and own all data analytics dashboards, reporting, and presentation to stakeholders for customer data, segmentation, promotions and offer intelligence, and customer relationship marketing
Partner with the technology department on the Burn Boot Camp technology road map
Co-owner of relationship with Burn Boot Camp’s digital agencies, alongside the technology team
Develop the strategy for our CRM and Loyalty platform, including challenge, offers and rewards
Analyze and deliver on the ROI for all marketing initiatives, offers, and programs
Manage multiple high-profile projects simultaneously across the Marketing team
Work as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment and build relationships with key departmental leaders
Identify trends and opportunities to amplify brand awareness through marketing technology stack
Lead presentations as a subject matter expert
Additional responsibilities, as assigned by manager
MEASURABLES
The success of the Marketing Technology Director can be measured by various key performance indicators including but not limited to the completion rate of technology projects, the adoption and satisfaction of implemented technologies, and the accuracy and integration success of data management. Additionally, campaign performance metrics such as ROI, conversion rates, and engagement are critical, alongside the efficiency gains from automation. Insight generation, decision-making impact from analytics, accuracy of reporting, effective vendor and budget management, including adherence to budgets and vendor performance, are also essential. Team performance, productivity, and development, along with employee engagement, are key indicators of leadership effectiveness. Lastly, the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in processes and technologies underscores the overall impact on the marketing department's strategic goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Proven experience (7+ years) in a marketing technology or related role
Strong knowledge of marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and data analytics tools
Google Analytics Experience
Experience with B2C digital marketing strategies
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
Experience with GA4
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proactive, reliable, and organized approach to work
Thorough understanding of direct marketing principles
Experience in Wrike or other project management platform
