Overall Job Summary
This position will develop strategies in the areas of leadership development and training across the organization. Working closely with the senior leadership team and others across Tractor Supply Company, the incumbent will be a partner in developing best in class programs for stores, distribution centers and the corporate office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
Partner closely with the HR leaders of TSC’s major business units (Store Support Center, Distribution Centers, and Stores).
Collaborate with various management and executive teams to conduct in-depth analysis of TSC’s current and future leadership development needs.
Continuously assess relevant learning and development strategies in the marketplace, competitive programs and practices and regulatory training requirements.
Lead the planning, execution and evaluation of solutions that meet the needs of the business and nationwide growth. Solutions include implementation of classroom and online learning formats, external learning opportunities, individual development planning, and coaching.
Oversee the Tractor Value System process improvement program utilizing relevant metrics to analyze effectiveness, follow through and overall team member experience.
Develop and integrate solutions to drive innovative business practices using inclusive behaviors and accountability at all levels of the Company.
Collaborate with cross-team resources, develop clear scopes of work and project plans, and lead cross-functional teams in executing priorities based on organizational need.
Provides active and intentional leadership for a team of direct and indirect reports.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
10+ years’ experience leadership development in high-impact Human Resources organizations. 7 years’ experience in learning and development or organizational development required. 5 years’ experience leading professional-level staff required. 3-5 years’ experience in a retail environment preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, human resources or other training/business related coursework required. Advanced Degree preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Professional Certifications:
SHRM-SCP and/or SPHR credentialing preferred.
Certified in Organizational development tools such as personality indicators, 360-degree feedback tools, career assessment and coaching a plus.
Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and assess needs (individual and organization) and develop action plans for success.
Must be a persuasive communicator with strong leadership presence, and interpersonal and team-building skills.
Demonstrates an exceptional ability in communications, leadership and relationship building at all levels of management.
Willing to “roll up the sleeves” to get the job done.
Effectively builds partnerships and influences stakeholders and decision-making at all levels of a complex, national organization and able to pivot to deal with the nuances of various businesses.
Diversity & Inclusion experience within a multi-site retail organization a plus.
Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with long-term strategic goals and budget.
Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community, partner organizations, and/or vendors and government regulators.
