Siting Engineer

This position is responsible for developing customer specific technical and commercial solutions in support of Wind Power Systems business development within Vestas. This includes providing direct support on the purpose, development, and presentation of solutions to Vestas customers up to, including and following the conclusion of sales agreements.Responsibilities:
Collect project inputs and constraints, define project scope, perform Siting analyses, and review and deliver results.Perform wind resource assessment and determine site characteristics in order to select turbine configurations based on conformance with standards, power production, and cost.Verify wind turbine design lifetime through load calculations.Develop project specific siting technical solutions to maximize project value while managing risks, and also develop tools and collaborate on projects utilizing siting data to create value.Utilize knowledge of Vestas turbines and regional wind conditions to provide expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders.Identify market requirements and trends to promote product, tool, and process development, and also develop and maintain relationships with customers and their consultants.Enable efficient interfaces between Sales, Technical Sales, Customers, Independent Engineers, and Central VPS Functions.Ensure knowledge sharing and collaboration across regional and Global Siting teams through coaching, mentoring, open and effective communication, and feedback.Other special projects or tasks, including general support of auctions, Co-development, Market Intelligence, etc.Qualifications:
Requires bachelor's degree in Engineering, either within Mechanical or Renewables Engineering, or a related certification in the mechanical/renewable/technical field and 3-5 years' experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Working experience within the wind energy industry highly desired.Demonstrated knowledge and skill in working with computers and common software applications. Knowledge and skill in working with industry specific software applications, including WAsP, WindPRO, WAsP Engineering highly desired.Experience using aero-elastic modeling packages for wind energy applications highly desired.Requires good analytical and methodical skills.Requires high level oral and written communication skills AND good customer service skills to work with customers, consultants and cross-functional teams.Ability to work in a constantly changing environment.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Ability to travel based on customer needs and overall company strategy.Knowledge within the field of meteorology preferred.Working knowledge of sales & marketing business processes preferred.What We Offer:
