Project Controls Specialist, Offshore
The Offshore Project Controls Specialist is responsible for tracking, analyzing and controlling income and spend associated with Vestas offshore wind projects under construction in the United States. The position is responsible for working with the Senior Project Manager and project team to forecast income and expenditures, plan budgets, classify costs by type, track man-hours associated with projects, verify supplier invoices, and oversee the financial impact of change orders for the project.
Responsibilities:Provide an accurate and timely assessment of project costs and income against the approved budgetRecognize actual Subcontractor progress, milestones achieved, variances in cost, and forecast actual vs. budgeted costEnsure accurate and timely reporting of overall Project costs against budgetsRevenue and cost recognitionPerformance compared to Pre-Calc and prior periodsMaster data elements are verifiedSystem inputs executed and verifiedManagement are informed in scheduled meetingsUpdate all Project Control deliverables (cost report, Primavera project schedule, 30-days look ahead, progress report, manhours report, etc), collecting actual data, evaluating forecast, and monitoring any deviation compared with the baseline schedule or initial budget.Provide Project Management team with analysis and recommendations to mitigate identified risks to the project by running simulations and assessing impact of actions taken.Have an integral part as a liaison between Offshore Customer Project Execution and Supply Chain/Transportation teams in order to effectively control risks stemming from production, delivery, and inventory of components impacting their project.Attend and represent Project Controls during all project meetings (internal or with the client when applicable).Ensure budget management, change management, forecasting and schedule, and progress updates are performed in accordance with procedures and good practices.Ensure scope changes are identified, evaluated, documented, and approved prior to implementationDirectly interface with SAP, Finance, the Project Manager and project team, and other external stakeholders to ensure that business information requirements are satisfiedVerify Contractor variation order estimatesCreate standard monthly project report (actuals, budget, estimates, variance analysis).Continuous monitoring and forecasting of project cash flowsSupplier invoice review and verification, and ensure costs are classified appropriatelySupport management of subcontractor's compliance with terms and conditions of the contract, related to financial mattersProvide monthly reconciliations of projects, both monthly, year to date and project to date.Keep up to date with system processes and ensure they are adopted in Offshore.Maintain key milestone dates like cash in milestones in the ERP systemProcess related reconciliation and documentation concerning the project financials/balances.Monitor and update project hedging (currency exposure) when appropriate, liaise with Treasury.Prepare financial input for Executive project summary.Local content reporting
Qualifications:Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration or other related field or equivalent relevant experience.5 - 8 years experience in project controls, including planning/scheduling, cost management, contract management, and change management.Experience with large scale projects delivery (large construction projects, an international environment and/or offshore wind or energy industry preferred).Current systems skills including Primavera P6, MS Office Suite, SAP and BI are preferredA person eager to learn and develop while possessing a high personal ethic and integrityAbility to operate effectively in a significant, ever-growing and results-oriented environment; handle constant change with ease and flexibility.Highly organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously*Creative and able to stay professional in a time-sensitive setting with the ability to cope with change and work in ambiguous circumstancesTechnical capabilities and good at gathering and sharing informationStrong cooperation and communication initiative, including advanced written and verbal skills.Ability to perform under high priority and innovative work environment handling multiple deliverablesFlexibility and adaptabilityAbility to work alone and with minimal supervisionAttention to details and build smart well-organized spreadsheetsGood attitude for teamworkMaintain high standards of ethical conduct, honesty, and integrity

During project execution, you will be working in South Brooklyn, New York.Ability to travel to other offshore sites for training and onboarding for periods at a time will be required.
