The Education Director at Village of Promise plays a pivotal role in our non-profit day care organization, overseeing and enhancing the educational programs that provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for children in our care. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving educational strategies that align with the organization's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, plan, and oversee the educational curriculum, ensuring it meets the highest standards for early childhood education.
Supervise and mentor a team of teachers, assistants, and other educational staff, providing guidance, professional development opportunities, and support.
Support the curriculum design and implementation.
Work with other leaders in the organization to grow the families through the Family Advancement programs.
Implement assessment tools and strategies to monitor and track the progress and development of each child, ensuring individualized support and intervention when needed.
Foster strong partnerships with parents and caregivers, facilitating regular communication, meetings, and workshops to involve them in their child's educational journey.
Ensure compliance with all state and local licensing requirements, regulations, and educational standards, maintaining accurate records and documentation. Specifically, work with DHR and the Alabama Early Childhood Education Department on reporting and requirements.
Responsible for supporting grant applications as they pertain to the education department.
Regularly assess the effectiveness of the educational programs and make improvements based on outcomes and feedback.
Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, organizations, and the families we service to enhance educational opportunities and resources for children.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within early childhood education or day care settings.
Knowledge of state and local regulations related to early childhood education and childcare services.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in curriculum development and assessment tools.
Demonstrated commitment to the well-being and educational development of children.
