Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2025.Demonstrated potential for effectiveness and excellence in teaching at the college level that reflects an understanding of the impacts of race, ethnicity, and other identities on the lives and experiences of students.Demonstrated potential to establish an ongoing research program in theoretical mathematics.Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including Black/African American, Latine/x, Native American/Indigenous, low-income, first-generation, and minoritized students.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated potential for theoretical mathematics research, especially in algebra or algebra-adjacent subfields.Successful teaching experience at the university/college level, especially with courses above the calculus level.Successful research experience, especially post-PhD, with a record of research publications in theoretical mathematics.Demonstrated potential and interest in teaching graduate courses, particularly in algebra.Demonstrated potential for obtaining external funding for mathematics research projects, especially those involving students.A record of contribution to service (e.g., committee work, engagement with efforts to support equity and inclusion) or demonstrated potential, within the university or a relevant disciplinary context.Experience mentoring or supporting students with minoritized identities or experience using inclusive and culturally relevant teaching strategies in a diverse classroom.Duties:Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses; periodically teach late afternoon or evening graduate-level courses.Develop and maintain a research program in mathematics that leads to publications in refereed journals.Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.Support student professional development.Participate in departmental activities and initiatives.Participate in service to the department, college, university, and community.How to Apply - Required Documentation:An Equity and Diversity Statement about your teaching or other experiences, successes, and challenges in working with a diverse student population (maximum two pages, single-spaced).Letter of application addressing the required and preferred qualifications.CV.Names and contact information for three references.Teaching Statement that communicates a philosophy and teaching practices and also addresses your ability to effectively teach, mentor, and support all students (maximum 2 pages, single-spaced).Research/Scholarly Interests Statement.How to Apply:
