We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated, collaborative Research Associate II / Senior Research Associate to join our Biologics research group dedicated to the discovery and development of novel oncology therapeutics. The position initially will primarily support cell biology with occasional support of protein engineering, production, and analytic functions as needed. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the foundational science and culture of a biotech start-up backed by an experienced team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in one or more areas of responsibility listed below, the willingness and drive to learn new technical skills, solid critical thinking and troubleshooting skills and the desire to witness and drive the growth of a new company from the ground up. Title, compensation and scope of duties will be tailored to the successful candidate’s experience.Role and Responsibilities:
Protein production of antibodies and bispecifics using transiently expressing cell lines (experience with Expi293 and AKTA machines is appreciated).Design and execution of in vitro biochemical and cell-based assays characterizing early stage bispecific antibody drug therapeutic candidates.Work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.Mammalian cancer cell line cataloging and maintenance.Laboratory equipment sourcing and maintenance.Transfection & production of antibodies and other proteins from mammalian cells.Protein purification by chromatography – affinity, IEX, SEC.Protein characterization (affinity determination, competitive binding assays, epitope determination) by BLI.Education, Experience and Qualification Requirements:
BS in cell biology, Immunology, molecular biology or related science with 4+ years or MSc with 2+ years of relevant industry experience.Core Competencies, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Experience with transient mammalian (CHO and HEK) antibody or other protein expression a plus.Experience with protein purification and QC (AKTA, SDS-PAGE, SEC, endotoxin assays) a plus.Experience with protein characterization using BLI and/or SPR.Excellent documentation, organizational skills and teamwork/communication skills are required.Salaries, Benefits and Other Employee Perks:

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $78,000 and $104,000 per year. At Dren Bio, pay ranges are determined by role, level(s), and location. The range displayed in this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum new hire pay for candidates located across all United States job markets. Within the range, individual pay will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
