The Opportunity:
Mattel Game Studio is seeking an experienced Director of Growth to build and operate a dynamic, data-driven performance marketing team supporting multiple new titles across game genres. This role will spend a majority of their time developing and executing strategies that support Mattel Game Studio’s audience growth, such as go-to-market strategies for new games, re-engagement campaigns for lapsed users and advanced creative optimization plans. This role requires unique leadership skills that combine deep mobile product marketing expertise with User Acquisition, Creative, Ad Media, ASO, and Performance Measurement knowledge. Additionally, the ideal candidate has prior experience marketing top tier IP and is familiar with the unique opportunity it affords.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Foster a collaborative, creative, and continuously improving environment within the performance marketing team, and represent the team in high-level meetings to convey their strategies, achievements, and resource needs.
Set clear objectives across the entire marketing funnel, from broad-reaching advertising initiatives to specific user acquisition campaigns.
Coordinate data-driven marketing strategies with financial objectives, product development timelines, and audience insights to craft effective go-to-market plans and scale projects post-launch.
Administer the global marketing budget, optimizing resource allocation to ensure scalable product growth while implementing comprehensive Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) measurements to ensure profitability.
Offer strategic insights and direction to the team, shaping product marketing decisions with your unique perspective by combining key knowledge and user acquisition expertise.
Take ownership of relationships with major advertising platforms to enhance Mattel Game Studios' influence and reputation within the industry, constantly working to locate, negotiate, and develop creative and innovative solutions for user acquisition.
Work closely with the Analytics team to convert performance data into actionable insights, using A/B and multivariate testing to refine marketing strategies and enhance business outcomes.
Relay insights from advertising creatives back to the Game Design and Production teams, establishing a feedback loop that highlights and enhances impactful game features.
Build strong connections with leaders from various departments, including Franchise and Brand teams, to create integrated marketing campaigns that leverage Mattel’s global presence.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in developing and executing Go-to-Market strategies for successful mobile game launches.
10+ years of leadership experience in mobile performance marketing for successful mobile games.
5+ years of experience leading a large, diverse, and inclusive team of product marketers.
5+ years of experience working collaboratively with teams across product, marketing, brand, analytics, and finance.
Demonstrated success in managing multi-million dollar, global marketing budgets, covering both top of funnel and performance marketing with comprehensive funnel measurement.
Experience supporting game development at all stages, from new game concepts to worldwide launches and mature live services.
A track record of consistently delivering improvements in mobile campaigns for live games with a global audience.
Strong proficiency with Mobile Measurement Partners (e.g., AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular) and performance marketing channels (e.g., Facebook Ads, Google Ads).
Solid understanding of funnel conversion metrics, retention rates, and Lifetime Value (LTV) predictions.
Ability to analyze data, move quickly, and continuously experiment to enhance metrics.
Skilled at collaborating with and influencing others without direct authority, leading discussions to drive business outcomes.
Capable of communicating effectively at all levels within an organization, including with executive management.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
The annual base salary range for this position is between $156,000 and $234,000.**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
