Our goal is to develop, build, produce, purify, and validate target proteins to support small and large-molecule drug discovery projects covering a variety of therapeutic areas including inflammation, oncology, and virology.We are looking for a candidate who will play a critical and independent role in our team. This individual will be responsible for planning and conducting protein production experiments to facilitate R&D activities and project objectives. With guidance, the candidate will assist other functions and teams by performing routine experiments such as preparing recombinant proteins for biochemical assays, structure determination, and in vivo studies. We are seeking a confident, proactive, and dedicated individual with proven experience in protein sciences, who is eager to learn new skills and fully understands the impact of their contributions to our success.Key Responsibilities:Perform protein expression, purification and QC characterizations of recombinant proteins to support drug development in multiple therapeutic areas.Proactively troubleshoot purification challenges and develop purification process and strategies.Excellent oral and written communication. Good understanding of scientific data and update project teams of protein status.Actively participate in group meetings, present the results, interpret data, and draw conclusions regarding presented material.Maintain awareness of cutting-edge technical developments and scientific knowledge and apply these where possible to improve process efficiency.Qualifications:Strong background in protein sciences and protein biochemistry.BS degree with 2+ years in related scientific discipline or MS degree in related scientific discipline with no industry experience. Preferred experience: BS with 4+years and MS with 2+years direct experience in expression and purification of a variety of recombinant proteins.Extensive hands-on experience in purification techniques including affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion, hydrophobic interaction chromatography using AKTA FPLC system.Proficiency with various analytical protein characterization techniques such as SEC-HPLC, Western blot, SDS-PAGE, Endosafe.Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced team environment.Attention to detail, accurate record keeping, and good lab citizenship practices are essential.Other preferred skills:Good understanding of gene cloning and construct design.Experience with protein expression using E. coli, insect and mammalian expression systems is desired.Experience with other protein characterization technologies (DLS, SEC-MALS, LC/MS, Mass Photometry) would be a strong plus.Familiar with structure-based design and engineering of proteins (sequence alignment, protein structure analysis using modeling software) is ideal.
