Position Summary:Are you passionate about supporting athletic programs and enhancing team performance? As the Assistant Coach & Scouting Specialist for the San Diego State University Athletic Department, you will play a crucial role in the operational and coaching aspects of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball program.Under the general supervision of the Deputy Athletic Director, People and Culture, you will be responsible for a variety of operational administrative, technical, and analytical duties of limited to moderate complexity. You will coordinate the preparation and operation of daily practices, including practice plans and post-practice reviews. Additionally, you will prepare coaches with data for player meetings, breakdown practice and game film, and help prepare scouting reports. Your role will also involve managing selected game day duties for both home and away games and building relationships to benefit NIL programming and the alumni database.Key Responsibilities:Recruitment of Student-Athletes:
Assist coaches with recruiting management, design and distribute recruiting materials, and assist in coordinating and organizing campus visits.Practice Coordination: Prepare and operate daily practices, including creating practice plans and conducting post-practice reviews.Data Preparation: Provide coaches with data for player meetings, including breakdowns of practice and game film.Scouting Reports: Assist in the preparation of scouting reports to enhance team performance.Game Day Management: Manage selected game day duties as assigned by the coaches for both home and away games.Relationship Building: Build relationships to benefit NIL programming and the alumni database.Position Information:This is a full-time, temporary position. The anticipated end date is one year from the date of hire, with the possibility of reappointment.This appointment is for a 10/12 pay-plan position meaning the incumbent works 10 months per year and is paid over 12 months.
