We’re looking for an experienced Assistant Women’s Water Polo Coach to join our team at San Diego State University.About Us: At SDSU, we’re committed to excellence both in and out of the pool. As the Assistant Coach, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting our mission and enhancing our water polo program.Key Responsibilities:Scout and connect with talented athletes who share our passion for the sport.Fine-tune techniques, strategize plays, and inspire our athletes to reach their full potential.Handle administrative tasks, coordinate logistics, and keep our program running smoothly.Teach water polo skills and mentor our student-athletes.Rally support from alumni, boosters, and the community to ensure our success.If you’re ready to make a difference and help lead our team to new heights, apply now!Position InformationThis is a part-time (19 hours per week), temporary position with an anticipated end date of July 31, 2025, with the possibility of reappointment.This appointment is for a 10/12 pay-plan position. The incumbent works 10 months per year and is paid over 12 months, with December 6, 2024 - January 6, 2025 and June 16, 2025 - July 11, 2025 as the anticipated off months.The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree. At least two years of high school, collegiate or junior/community college experience as an assistant water polo coach.Key QualificationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills and presents a positive image.Used to working in a fast-paced environment and being able to complete tasks efficiently in a timely manner.Master’s degree is preferred.Two or more years as a water polo coach in NCAA Division I, II, or III. Division I playing experience is preferred.National and international recruiting connections, including USA Water Polo Olympic Development Pipeline (ODP).Knowledge of conference rules and regulations.Experience with community outreach programs.Licenses/Certifications RequiredMust obtain CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifesaving certifications within 60 days of hire.Compensation and BenefitsStarting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed
