Director of Annual Giving
Job Summary:The
Director of Annual Giving
manages all Development team operations, including gift tracking and processing, donor stewardship, data management and reporting, and collateral upkeep. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role is responsible for overseeing fundraising operations and driving revenue growth through direct response and digital fundraising.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
1-3 direct reports.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Finance and bank contacts, to manage gift processing, ensuring timely and accurate entry, tracking, and acknowledgment.
Oversee process improvements and implementation for functions such as data entry, data integrity, reporting, auditing, and other development operations.
Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of Salesforce database of donor information.
Lead the organization’s direct mail strategy.
Work closely with the Director of Development to tailor the approach as needed, and collaborate with Marketing team stakeholders to support mailing efforts, online fundraising, and donor stewardship.
Oversee all mailings and related processes, including lists, tracking, and post office communication.
Provide reports and analyses on direct and digital campaign performance, applying key insights to optimize strategy and messaging for improved results.
Collaborate with Development, Marketing, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure brand consistency and quality control among materials and messaging.
Supervise and mentor team members, address skill gaps through employee development, and create a growth plan as development operations expand.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
5+ years of direct mail acquisition and housefile experience in a leadership position.
Demonstrated experience leading people and teams through effective supervision, coaching, development, and delegation.
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Proven experience leading projects, designing processes across multiple teams, and leading groups to achieve department and strategic goals and objectives.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, combined with a strong attention to detail.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, a passion for teamwork and cross-collaboration, matched by an ability to prioritize objectives and focuses independently.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Experience with Salesforce, including reporting, and other relationship management tools, such as Pardot.
A passion for and understanding of the mission and values of IHS.
