Land Use/Environmental Planning Manager . This job classification is assigned to county departments within the Land Use/Environment Group (LUEG). Current vacancies are with the Planning & Development Services’ (PDS) Long Range Planning and Project Planning. This list may also be used to fill future vacancies in other PDS Divisions and Departments within LUEG.Planning & Development ServicesDivisions - Project Planning:The Project Planning division reviews privately initiated, discretionary projects for compliance with Federal, State, and Local ordinances and policies, including the General Plan, Zoning Ordinance, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and Community plans. The division manages all aspects of new development projects in the County, including affordable housing, renewable energy projects, and mixed-use projects.Long Range Planning:The Long Range Planning (LRP) division maintains long range land use documents, develops programs, and formulates policies in accordance with regulations. LRP is dedicated to modernizing regulations and fostering sustainable growth while prioritizing the unique needs of the County’s unincorporated communities. The division emphasizes outreach and community engagement, championing principles of accessibility, inclusivity, integrity, and equity.Positions in this job class are located at the County Operations Center in Kearney Mesa, which includes various amenities for employees.Work Location:

Professional-level planning experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis, for up to two years of the education requirement.
