Position Summary:
The Cleary University Director of Enrollment Management - Public Safety Programs is a strategic leadership role focused on establishing and enhancing partnerships with public safety departments, including police, fire, and EMS. This position plays a critical role in aligning the educational needs of first responders with the University’s academic programs, driving talent development, and supporting the growth and expansion of these programs. The Director will focus on relationship building, leveraging extensive networks within the public safety community to create opportunities for collaboration and program enhancement. By fostering strong connections with key stakeholders, the Director will not only support enrollment growth but also ensure that Cleary University remains a leader in providing relevant, high-quality educational offerings tailored to the unique needs of public safety professionals. The Director will exemplify professionalism and customer service, promoting a culture of collaboration and communication across departments to achieve the University’s mission and objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:
Partnership Development:
Identify, approach, and cultivate relationships with first responder organizations, both in-state and out-of-state, to support strategic enrollment growth and enhance community engagement. This includes establishing partnerships that align with the needs of regional public safety departments as well as expanding outreach to national organizations that can benefit from Cleary University’s educational offerings.
Customer Service Leadership:
Serve as an action-oriented leader who prioritizes high levels of customer service, fostering a culture of community and effective communication among students, faculty, and staff.
Recruitment and Enrollment:
Actively participate in strategies to enroll, advise, recruit, and retain students, collaborating with enrollment specialists to align efforts with the University’s goals.
Communication and Outreach:
Lead outreach efforts to promote Cleary University’s offerings, serving as a primary spokesperson for the Public Safety programs to relevant stakeholders.
Event Planning and Supervision:
Plan, monitor, and supervise events, ensuring that all initiatives inside and outside of academic offerings are effectively managed, documented, and aligned with university priorities.
Event Participation:
Actively represent Cleary University at relevant events, both as an attendee and exhibitor, to promote academic programs and partnership opportunities. Focus on building relationships and making vital connections with public safety organizations and stakeholders, both in-state and out-of-state, to enhance collaboration and foster a network that supports the University’s mission.
Collaboration with Leadership:
Work closely with the Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management to align partnership initiatives with enrollment and net tuition revenue objectives.
Marketing Synergy:
Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to optimize strategies that support the development of public safety partnerships.
Data Analysis:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive system for analyzing and tracking outreach efforts related to public safety partnerships as well as current enrollment funnels.
Program Development:
Work with the Academic and Marketing teams to design market-ready programs, including certifications and professional development opportunities tailored to public safety needs.
Opportunity Identification:
Continuously identify and evaluate new outreach opportunities to enhance partnerships and ROI. Conduct thorough research to identify potential new public safety departments that have specific needs for educational programs. Focus on how these programs can directly support their recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring that the offerings are tailored to meet the evolving demands of the industry.
Additional Duties:
Perform all other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of Cleary University.
Non-Essential Functions:
Participate in campus meetings, strategic planning initiatives, and events to contribute to the overall University vision.
Support academic teams in ensuring that curricula are current and effective by participating in committees and collaborative efforts.
Lead/Assist in university activities, including orientation, site visits, graduation ceremonies, and student externship placements.
Provide support to the Enrollment department by engaging with potential students, conducting tours, and participating in orientations.
Supervision:
Supervises the Public Safety team in collaboration with the Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management and reports directly to the SVP of Enrollment Management.
Travel Requirements:
This position requires extensive travel within Michigan and occasional out-of-state travel. The Director will be expected to build and maintain relationships with public safety departments and engage with high-level dignitaries and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and partnership opportunities.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. Ideal candidate possesses extensive experience working with public safety organizations, demonstrating a proven track record in relationship building, stakeholder engagement, and understanding the unique challenges and opportunities within the public safety sector.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as manuals, write routine reports, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills, a customer-focused approach, and experience in developing partnerships with public safety organizations.
