Description

The Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the Yale School of Public Health is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual for a tenure-track position in Environmental Epidemiology. The successful candidate will specialize in investigating environmental influences, including chemical and non-chemical stressors, as well as consideration of individual-level susceptibility factors, and their impacts on human health and diseases. We are particularly interested in applicants with demonstrated records of leading environmental epidemiological studies using modern epidemiologic research approaches. Some example areas of interest include but are not limited to the exposome and environmentally focused omics, emerging chemicals, spatial epidemiology, environmental health data science, and precision environmental health. The candidates will have opportunities to engage in vibrant and collaborative research at the School of Public Health and Yale University. Additionally, the role of this position includes developing and teaching an environmental epidemiology course for Masters and Doctoral students at the Yale School of Public Health.Responsibilities

Conduct cutting-edge environmental epidemiological research on human health and diseases.Develop and maintain an active research program.Collaborate with our departmental research in the areas of climate change and energy impacts on health, the developmental origin of health and disease, green chemistry solutions, environmental justice and health disparities, and novel toxicological and exposomic approaches to assess exposures and early markers of health.Develop and teach a graduate-level environmental epidemiology course.Mentor students in environmental epidemiology and related fields.Professional Qualifications

PhD, ScD, or MD/PhD degree, or the equivalent, by the start of the appointment, with a strong background in environmental epidemiology or a closely related field.Strong record of research productivity and innovation as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications.Documented experience in teaching.To be considered at the associate or full professor level, candidates should have a progressively more significant volume of past and current extramurally funded research programs in environmental epidemiology, as well as a scholarly record that meets the School’s standards for the rank.To Apply
