We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of the EH&S team, assist with health and safety demands of our workforce, and contribute to the application of effective EH&S management by providing administrative tasks, limited technical support, and field work assistance such as safety walkthroughs, environmental audits, collecting samples, conducting trainings, and coordinating meetings. This effort will enhance internal/external customer satisfaction, ensure regulatory compliance, improve employee morale, and achieve the company’s strategic business development goals. The EH&S Coordinator will work in close collaboration with various departments and is expected to have exceptional presentation skills and professional judgment, as well as be self-motivated and work with considerable independence. This individual must have a positive attitude, be self-managed, and have the ability to scale with a fast-growing company. This position is based in San Carlos or Marina and requires travel to local Joby work sites once a month.Responsibilities

Coordinate and ensure positive cross-departmental relationshipsPromote continuous communication within the organizationUnder the direction of management, schedule training, track injury and illness information, manage process improvement projects, and follow up on action itemsMaintain permits for fire, hazardous materials storage, hazardous waste, etc.Administer online EH&S training database and assist with instructor-led trainingWalk the manufacturing floor on a regular basis to establish EH&S presence and provide supportAdminister respiratory fit tests, hearing conservation program, safety shoes, and other personal protective equipmentTrack and maintain exposure monitor testingMaintain and update incident logs, near misses, and safety suggestionsMaintain equipment inspection logs (i.e. eyewashes, emergency showers, AED, cranes, first aid cabinets, spill kits, etc.)Maintain internal audit and external inspection records as requiredAbility to oversee hazardous waste storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance (i.e. labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.)Coordinate with vendors for waste pickups and provide waste haul oversightMaintain, track, and file hazardous waste manifests, and weekly inspection logsPrepare applicable EH&S reports as necessaryMaintain and update EH&S bulletin boardsSupport coordination of monthly safety and emergency response meetingsRetain and track hazard assessment forms for new chemicals/equipmentUpdate, maintain, and administer Safety Data SheetMaintain safety PPE inventoriesAssist in updating the Emergency Action Plan book and accountability tableRequired

Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, related sciences or equivalent years of relevant work experience5+ years of environmental health and safety administration experienceKnowledge of Cal/OSHA, EPA, and related standards and regulationsMust have strong organizational, analytical skills, and follow instructions preciselyTeam player who enjoys a high-paced environment and multi-faceted job dutiesSelf-starter with the ability to work independently without supervisionExcellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a highly interactive/energetic team environmentStrong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (must be proficient in Excel, i.e. pivot table, chart, vlookup, logical formula)Must have the ability to maintain data confidentialityMust be flexible to ensure project completionsMust wear safety shoes as part of the job when requiredPerform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking significant distancesWork may require lifting up to 25 poundsMay be susceptible to outdoor weather conditions (i.e. cold, heat, rain, and/or wind)Desired

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $81,500 - $108,700/yr.
