Senior Environmental Engineer - Waste – Decatur, IL
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Environmental Engineer - Waste located in Decatur, IL. Reporting to the Decatur Complex Environmental Manager, this role will be a part of the EHS Center of Excellence and will directly support the Decatur Complex.Main Responsibilities:Serve as a subject matter expert in waste, asbestos, and refrigerant management for the ADM Decatur Complex.Determine applicability of federal, state, and local waste, asbestos, and refrigerant regulations regarding ADM Decatur operations, communicate them to facilities, and provide support for development of processes and systems to maximize operational flexibility and ensure compliance.Complete Non-Special Waste certification applications and assist with waste determinations.Prepare hazardous waste reporting for the Decatur Complex large quantity generators and maintain site contingency plans.Monitor, evaluate and report ADM Decatur Complex Strive 35 performance and suggest actions to further improve performance.Serve as an effective interface between ADM’s Decatur Complex environmental team and ADM’s third-party waste vendor.Participate in compliance audits and assist in the development of Best Management Practices (BMP), as appropriate.Maintain site specific Asbestos Operations and Management plans for the Decatur Complex and ensure asbestos-containing materials are correctly managed.
