Senior Air Spring Development Engineer

Looking for a Senior Air Spring Development Engineer to support one of our customer's onsite.ResponsibilitiesApply fundamental physics to innovate and develop advanced product designs for application to new or existing automotive chassis mechanical/electro-mechanical systems and components.Direct and coordinate CAD and CAE modeling of mechanical systems and components.Develop analytical and physical design validation methods to ensure robust products.Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external customers.Create and release appropriate engineering documentation (e.g. drawings, engineering specifications).Troubleshoot bench testing and/or vehicle issues during development.Establish and maintain customer relationships.Lead internal and external design reviews for prototype and production designs, models, and drawings using analysis techniques such as the DFMEA and/or DRBFM to identify and assess design and manufacturing risks.Lead, mentor, and support team members.Analyze market trends to propose future products.Required SkillsMinimum experience: 7 years.BSME, BSMET or related degree.Strong grasp of solid mechanics fundamentals (fluid mechanics is a plus).Strong grasp of CAE modeling of mechanical systems and components.Fundamental 3D modeling and 2D drawing skills.Ability to manage multiple products/projects with attention to detail.Experience in manufacturing process of steel, iron, aluminum, rubber, or plastic components.Experience with CATIA, ABAQUS, Matlab, or related software.Willing to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally to customer sites, company sites, and supplier sites.Preferred SkillsExperience in air spring systems and design.MSME, MSMET or related degree.Experience in APQP process for developing components for serial production.Experience in automotive suspension system and component development.Working knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, DVP&R, DFSS, DFA, DFM, APQP, VAVE.Job Type:
