Twin Cities PBS ("TPT") is one of the preeminent PBS affiliate stations in the country. TPT harnesses the power of storytelling across multimedia platforms to entertain, educate, and empower audiences to think critically and engage with their communities. TPT produces award-winning content on a local level as well as for the national PBS system. In addition to its impressive content, TPT is known for having one of the largest and most successful membership portfolios across the public media system. We are searching for a leader to serve as our next Director of Membership. The Director leads the day-to-day operations of the membership department, including team leadership, budget management, oversight of direct mail and sustainer programs, customer service, telemarketing, data analysis, vendor management, and effective use of the CRM system. This strategic role is crucial for boosting member engagement and retention through sophisticated campaign management and data analysis. The Director also serves as a key member of the leadership team and promotes a culture that reflects TPT's values, encourages outstanding performance, and rewards productivity and innovation. This position reports to the Vice President of Membership.Hiring Salary:
$105,000 - $115,000 annually (depending on qualifications)Hybrid Work Environment:
Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area and report to the onsite office three days per week.Major Areas of Responsibility:Membership Program Management (35% of time):
Develop and implement strategies for the membership program, including membership levels ranging from $5 donations to $1,200 supporting levels. Create data-informed, strategic direct mail and telecommunications campaigns with clear goals, metrics, and segmentation. Manage renewal and new membership solicitations through various channels. Collaborate with Marketing and Major and Planned Gifts to increase giving levels. Stay updated on best practices and innovations in fundraising and CRM.Membership Operations (40% of time):
Develop data-informed campaign segmentation utilizing complex data sets. Provide oversight and partnership with Marketing and Communications on all membership-related communications. Optimize database utilization for efficient annual membership renewal preparation and all membership communications.Team/Staff Management (20% of time):
Lead, mentor, inspire, and develop team members. Oversee hiring, staffing, evaluation, and training of staff. Cultivate a fun, engaging, and balanced work environment.Other Duties as Assigned (5% of time):
Participate as an active member of the Leadership Team and contribute to shared goals.Qualifications:Required Experience:Bachelor's degree in advancement, membership, business administration, or related area.10+ years of fundraising experience, with at least 5 years of management experience.5+ years of experience managing direct mail and/or sustainer programs with strong outcomes.Proficiency in CRM systems and data management tools, with strong analytical skills.Experience managing customer service functions.Preferred Experience:Non-profit experience preferred.Experience within the public media system a plus.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite.Strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to advancing Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) priorities.Equal Opportunity Employer:
